Banteer National School camogie players can hold their heads high this evening after an epic clash with Millstreet in the Schools Final replay. Both teams returned to Rathcoole this afternoon to do it all over again after the game finished in a draw last week.
This game proved as exciting as the first outing with both teams finding the net in the opening 5 mins, the Banteer goal coming from Roisin Foley.

Banteer got on top when Kate Foley raising another green flag and Kaitlyn Kelleher pointing a free before the half time whistle. Niamh Kiely pulled off some great saves with plenty help from Clodagh Cronin and Hollie Corkery to clear her lines.

The second half saw Roisin Foley working hard around the middle of the field providing plenty ball into Aoife Murphy and Kate Foley who continued to be a handful for the Millstreet defence.

The switch of Kaitlyn Kelleher to centre field in the final quarter look to be the turning point of the game scoring 1-2 from play minutes after the move and gave Banteer the lift they needed in the final few minutes, but a never say die Millstreet side found their second wide and 3 goals was enough to pip our girls just before the final whistle, leaving Millstreet to win by a goal.

Well done to Denis O Donoghue, who has done a fantastic job coaching the girls, it was a fantastic achievement to reach a final and all involved can be very proud of the teams performance though out the tournament.
