Juniors finish top of their group, going into the semifinal by overcoming Milstreet in a pulsating clash in Banteer on Sunday evening last. A well fired up Banteer side started the better with Una Twohig opening the game with a point from a placed ball. Banteer continued to dominate on their own '65 with Gemma Cashman, Vicky Withers and Rosie Twohig eagerly working hard. A excellent point from Lauren McGeogh on her league debut settled the home side, with Mairead Withers added another point to the tally. Aisling O Brien, Karen O Keeffe and Ellen Hartnett continuing to cause problem for the Millstreet defence. Millstreet replied with 3 unanswered points before a fantastic save from Banteer keeper Niamh Long to deny the Millstreet drive, Banteer turn this attack around with a run of numerous passes finishing with Imelda Vaughan having no doubts finding the back of the net to raise the only green flag of the game before the half time whistle, giving Banteer the lead at the break of 1-4 to 0-3.

A blistering ten minutes from Millsteet saw them come with in a point of the lead, in defence Elaine O Donovan, Sinead Casey and Maire McAuliffe ensuring they didn't take that lead. A point from Imelda Vaughan and another pointed free from Una Twohig gave Banteer slight breathing space before Millstreet answered back with two points from play.

The final ten minutes proved the difference as Banteer dug deep by pulling Millstreet's momentum to a halt, by scoring 4 points from play without reply, one from which Sarah Reilly set up Imelda scoring an outstanding point off balance . Full back Kate O Donoghue played a vital roll to denied Millstreet's danger woman Kate O Keeffe of scoring in the final minutes of the game. Leaving Banteer with a well deserved victory on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-9
