"THE BUDS OF BALLYBUNION"

posted 21 Oct 2014, 13:27 by Rosie Twohig
Banteer's Drama Group present John B. Keane's hilarious comedy
"THE BUDS OF BALLYBUNION" and have again been extremely generous to give us proceeding from the first night.

The play deals with a slice of social history in Ballybunion immediately after the Second World War. At that time, with rationing still in place, country people came to the town for two weeks in September when the work on the farm was completed. They brought with them provisions for the week, and these were cooked and served by Mary O'Dee and her daughter, Dolly, but its not all smooth sailing with the solicitor, who brings the bad news to Mary O'Dee, that the lease on her boarding house is up, will a tradition that has continued for decades come to an end?

Tickets for the play are just €10, fantastic value for what promises to be a night of great entertainment. Tickets can be bought from any of our Junior Camogie players, committee or you can contact 0879596307!! This fundraiser was a sell out last year, so book you tickets early to avoid disappointment.
