Bweeng Community are re-enacting the Easter 1916 March into Bweeng when over 300 companies from Mourneabbey, Mallow, Kilmona, Whitechurch, Donoughmore, Castletownroche, Courtbrack, Nadd, Lyre and Lombardstown marched to Bweeng. Present on that day were Tomas McCurtain, Terence McSweeney, Michael Lynch and Thomas Kent. It will take place on Sunday April 24th culminating in the unveiling of commemorative plaque in the community groundsBanteer/Lyre GAA will participate in this march. All persons wishing to take part will assemble in Bweeng Community Grounds where they will be bused to Nadd/Lyre and the surrounding areas and march to Bweeng. Adults and Juveniles welcome.
