The Banteer and Lyre juvenile club is now into its stride with the matches coming thick and fast.
On Saturday morning the 5th the under 8 group were training in the astro from 10-12. At the same time there was plenty of activity in the sports field. In the top pitch the U12 Hurlers were playing against Shanballymore and ran out easy winners in this game with a huge score of 9-11 and only letting in 1-2.

At the same time as this match was going on in the top pitch there was an U10 Hurling blitz going on in the main pitch. The Banteer team played very well in all of the matches and coach John O' Donoghue is very happy with the progress made by the team.

Later that day the Minor hurlers were in action against St. Marks and lost out in this one on a scoreline of St. Marks 4-13 to Banteer 1-5. Well done to the team for their efforts on the day. Next up for the minor hurlers is Croke Rovers.

On the Sunday the U14 Hurlers went into action for the first time this year and they were victorious over Killshannig on a scoreline of Killshannig 2-17 to Banteer 5-9. This was a great win for the team and will surely give them great confidence going forward. This follows on from a great win for the U14 footballers over Newmarket last weekend on a scoreline of Lyre 6-13 to Newmarket 1-5. Well done to all involved.
