AGM Report

The Banteer/Lyre AGM took place in Lyre Hall last Saturday. The meeting was opened and both the secretaries gave their reports.
Martin Barry gave an excellent summation of the Banteer year. Some points to note, he thanked his fellow officers and those who took the teams in the 2014 year. He also expressed his disappointment with the fixtures that weren't fulfilled in the JBHL, but mentioned the commitment when it came to JBHC.
Lyre Secretary Donal Murphy, among the many things in his report mentioned some of the issues that were raised at the monthly meetings during the year.
Lyre Chairman John Roche expressed his thanks to all those who helped in the running of the club. He also mentions that there was credit due to all who took part in the hosting of big games in Banteer, especially the Duhallow final. He also expressed his gratitude to those involved in the management of teams. He then gave recommendations for the running of the club for the coming year.
Conor Lane gave his summation for the 2014 sporting year. He echoed some of what the Lyre Chairman said, with that, gave praise to all those who were involved in the preparation of the sportsfield as a playing surface. Both Chairmen expressed sympathies to the Lawlor family on the loss of Martin Lawlor R.I.P. earlier in the year. Martin was a long time servant of our GAA club.
Treasurer Connie Tarrant gave a run down on club finances for the 2014 sporting year. He gave credit to all those involved in generating revenue for the club and highlighted methods of raising funds that will be essential for the club.
Managers from both codes gave their reports for the year gone by. Denis Withers mentioned that he was extremely grateful for all those who helped him in his role. Denis also said he looked forward to supporting the team in the future and was keen to see younger players develop into adult players.
Conor Buckley analyzed results from the year; he expressed his disappointment in player potential not being fulfilled during the year. He stated that he enjoyed his role in the team for the last three years and gave thanks to all whom he worked with. Conor expressed best wishes to the teams going forward.

Denis Withers gave an update on plans for work for the Sportsfield, he mentioned the success of the Sportsfield Draw and made people aware of the upcoming Sportsfield AGM. He expressed the importance of the crèche and the bingo to the local community.

Duhallow Board Chairman Richard Murphy complemented all the officers in the running of the club. He complemented the players for continuing to take part in both codes. He expressed thanks to those who represented the club at meetings and mentioned their special ability to get game played.
He expressed his best wishes to the club on the field for 2015.
Following this officers were elected.
