Banteer Rediscover Winning Ways

Banteer 1-22     Castlemagner 1-15
Banteer recovered from Easter Sunday's defeat to Newmarket with a win over Castlemagner on Sunday last.
Banteer who had a poor first half, found themselves behind at half time, and only for excellent defending by Hugh O Connor, and a last ditch intervention from Stephen Mannix it surely would have been more. Fine scores from Kevin Tarrant and David Murphy, and a well taken point from Damien Kearney, gave Banteer a positive end to a poor first half.
The second half was a lot better from Banteer, and in turn began to dominate in key positions. Cian Murphy found his range up front and, Martin Kearney took over at midfield, the culmination of all this were scores to move Banteer into the lead, an impressive Richard O Connor point the pick of the bunch. David Murphy got on the end of a Kevin Barry pass, to find the back of the Castlemagner net. Along with Colm Coughlan striking his third point from midfield, this essentially put the game beyond the visitors. Full time Banteer 1-22 Castlemagner 1-15
