Lyre v Kiskeam was a game that could have went either way, with weather still very unpredictable and heavy showers meant that once the ball hit the ground it would slide away from you quick.

The first half both teams were weighing each other out with scores from both sides and no team really going far in front. Lyre passing was poor with long passes hitting the ground and sliding away from the man were as Kiskeam were a bit smarter. A lot of big hits and questionable decisions were made in the first half and would continue into the second. Lyre held a one point advantage going into halftime.

Halftime: Lyre 0-09

Kiskeam 0-08

Lyre once again got off to a huge start with a quick goal where Keith McGeough gave a beautiful ball to Denis Roche which was only going one way. The game started to get very rough and dirty with both side getting involved with each other which gave the ref no choice but hand a number of yellow cards to both sides. When Lyre started to play they played well leading to another goal from the boot of Denis Roche and another from Pa Keeffe. Kiskeam tried to use Lyre's discipline to add a few scores which they did from frees, but this wasn't enough as Lyre would turn it on and march the field for a score and never really felt a treat from Kiskeam in the last few minutes. This resulted in Lyre receiving another two points by winning on a scorline of 3-13 to 0-14.
