Lyre v Boherbue

The second round of the championship brought Lyre and Boherbue together. This was the third encounter for the teams. Lyre hoping to knock Boherbue out while Boherbue were hoping to get a second chance.

Boherbue started the scoring first knocking over two points to Lyres no score but it didn't take long for Lyre to hit back with a Keith McGeough goal. Lyre knocked over another two hard worked points and just before half time Keith McGeough put the ball in the back of the net once again which meant Lyre went in at half time with a lead of Lyre 2-03 to Boherbue 0-02.

Boherbue came out in the second half with a new game plan and after making changes they had knocked over 3 points in the first 10 minutes. Lyre defence were struggling from attack after attack. Boherbue then extended there lead from a Corkery goal. Boher didn't stop and kept knocking point after point as the Lyre forwards struggled. Lyre only got 2 points in the second half coming from the boot of Denis Roche. Boherbue out scored Lyre 1-09 to 2 points in the second half. Boherbue now stay in contention.
